Our Voices

Other than the people, what do you like most about working at your specific site?

Elaine Diaz
Civil Engineer II-Bagdad

On the professional side, Bagdad allows me to oversee different types of projects from
structural to water resources and even a little bit of transportation. On the practical
side, I like the low rent and easy commute plus access to facilities like the gym and
community campus.

Paige Kimball
Industrial Hygiene Lead-Tyrone

What I like best is the commitment shown on all levels. Smaller sites like Tyrone help foster a sense of community, so everyone from the GM to the front line is working together toward the same goals. I believe that contributes to our ability to reach them.

Mariana Lafon
Environmental Scientist I-Chino

I appreciate all the challenges and the learning opportunities at Chino. The collaboration, great leadership, supportive work culture and the chance to contribute to different innovative projects make our site a great workplace.

Jeff Loll
RAMP Supervisor-Bagdad

I’m grateful for the opportunities and support I’ve received to be part of innovative teams and explore projects that contribute to the business, even when they fall outside my typical job scope. The ability to pursue projects aligned with my interests is something I truly value.

Joanne Mager
Crush/Convey Maintenance Supervisor-Sierrita

I like working at Sierrita because I like to be a supervisor. I started out as a mechanic, went into planning and now a supervisor. I believe that makes me a better leader because I have been on both sides of the operation. I like to guide my employees so that they can perform well and move up within the company the same way as I did.

Gabe Montoya
Senior Environmental Technician-Safford

I like that so many Safford team members strive to be their brother’s keeper at all times, on or off the job. It’s comforting to know co-workers will help me stay aware of hazards, especially on busy, hectic days.

Bertha Najera
HR Assistant II-Sierrita

I like the opportunity – first, what the company offers to their employees and second what Sierrita makes possible in terms of career growth. I was able to grow from security to HR thanks to that opportunity.

Jesus Peraza
Crush/Convey Maintenance Supervisor-Sierrita

I like the challenge of improving our process along with the knowledge and experience that comes with it. Sierrita has been a great place of growth for me, both personal and professional. I started working for this company 12 years ago, six years as a crusher operator, and now I am a maintenance supervisor.

Corina Rodriguez
Health and Safety Senior Supervisor-Morenci

Working in Morenci, you have exposure to different challenges daily. You are always learning something new, and the job never has a dull moment. The small-town community is a plus, as I grew up in another copper mining town, Ajo, Arizona. I consider myself to be very fortunate to have had the privilege to live in these copper mining communities.

Andrea Sanchez
Administrative Assistant II-Safford

I like that the Safford site is smaller than other locations. Everyone is willing to help each other out regardless of what division you work in.

Guy Shurts
Reliability Certified Maintenance Senior Supervisor-Chino

I work across both Chino and Tyrone, and the most interesting part of my job is the opportunity to interact with both properties, see the problems they have and come up with innovative solutions to ensure positive outcomes at the end of the day.

Anisurei Vazquez
Mine Production Operator I-Henderson

No one is born with the skills or knowledge to be a miner, and at Henderson, we are given opportunities to train and develop new trades and skills on the job.
