with Numerous Awards in 2024
From another appearance on the JUST 100 companies list to the Forbes list for top employers to a host of individual honors, Freeport’s work was celebrated throughout the year. Here is a sampling of those honors:
America’s 100 Most JUST Companies … Again
For the fifth consecutive year, Freeport was selected as one of America’s 100 Most JUST Companies, based on the public’s perceptions of what is considered important and responsible business behavior. Freeport finished 91st overall, ranking first in the Basic Resources category and first among the 11 in that category for dealing with workers, communities and the environment.
Forbes America’s 2024 Rankings for Best Large Employers
Freeport was one of the best places in the United States to work in 2024, according to Forbes magazine’s annual Best Large Employers rankings. These rankings were based on worker satisfaction across a range of criteria, including working hours, pay, benefits and career opportunities. In 2024, Freeport ranked 289th overall among 600 American firms with at least 5,000 employees.
Forbes America’s 2024 Rankings for Best-In-State Employers
In another recognition of Freeport as a top career destination, the company was named as one of the best employers in Arizona in an annual ranking by Forbes magazine. Freeport ranked 67th on the Forbes list among companies in the private sector and government entities. Of Arizona employers based in the state, Freeport finished 16th. The state-by-state rankings are based on surveys of more than 160,000 employees working for companies with at least 500 U.S. employees who were asked to rank their employers on a scale from zero to 10.
2024 Ankh Award – The Copper Club, Inc.
The Copper Club, Inc. recognized Kathleen Quirk, President and Chief Executive Officer, as the 2024 Ankh Award recipient. The award has been bestowed every year at The Copper Club’s Annual Dinner since 1962 to professionals who have made extraordinary contributions to the copper industry.
Steve Higgins, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, a chair member of the Copper Club, and 2016 Ankh Award recipient, said, “Kathleen’s passion is for the people who make our industry successful and her outstanding leadership of Freeport-McMoRan. She has been steadfast in her commitment to our collective goal of promoting the responsible production of copper. At Freeport, this means a strong focus on partnering with host communities to deliver shared value with the aim of providing long-lasting benefits for all stakeholders.”
Institutional Investor Hall of Fame
Institutional Investor, a leading international business-to-business publication, selected Freeport Chairman and former Chief Executive Officer Richard Adkerson for its All-America Executive Team CEO Hall of Fame. This honor recognizes chief executives who have been voted top of their sector at least six times in a survey of sell- and buy-side participants. Adkerson is no stranger to this recognition, having earned the top spot in the Metals & Mining category nine times.
Mining Journal’s Top 50 Most Influential 2024 List
The Mining Journal recognized Kathleen Quirk, President and Chief Executive Officer, as one of the mining industry’s most influential leaders, securing the fourth spot in the Journal’s annual Top 50 Most Influential list. Quirk joins executives from mining and metals companies as well as government officials around the world, finishing one notch above U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. She is also one of 12 women who made the 2024 list.
2024 All-America Executive Team
Freeport and its top leaders were named among the industry’s best, winning a clean sweep in the 2024 All-America Executive Team annual rankings by Extel. Freeport finished first in every category in the Metals & Mining sector based on the conducted surveys. For the second year in a row, it also was named as one of America’s Most Honored Companies, with an overall ranking of 11th out of the 134 companies to receive that recognition.
In addition to the company awards, individual Freeport leaders rated the industry’s best were:

Chairman of the Board and former Chief Executive Officer, was named Best CEO in the buy-side, sell-side and combined categories.
MAREE ROBERTSON,
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, was rated Best CFO in all three categories.
DAVID JOINT,
Vice President–Investor Relations, was ranked Best IR Professional in all three categories.
