The top-performing social media posts for this quarter highlight Freeport’s activities domestically and internationally, including the completion of the PTFI smelter, the company’s participation at MINExpo and an overview of copper reserves by country.
Between LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, Freeport’s social media channels have collectively reached nearly 270,000 followers, which includes employees, their friends and families, community members and industry leaders. This is up from 253,000 the previous quarter, an increase of 6.3 percent.

Here are the company’s five top-performing posts from August through October:
No. 1 – Copper Reserve Share
This post shared an infographic from MiningVisuals, listing countries with the largest copper reserves, such as Chile, Peru, the U.S. and Indonesia, all where Freeport operates. The post garnered more than 120,000 impressions (the number of times the post was seen) and 1,150 engagements (likes, clicks, shares and comments) on LinkedIn.
No. 3 – MINExpo
This post covered Freeport’s participation at MINExpo – the world’s largest mining exhibition. It gained more than 60,300 impressions and over 1,480 engagements on LinkedIn.
No. 2 – PTFI Smelter
The second most popular post featured the completion of the smelter at PTFI. It highlighted a visit from former Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who attended the site’s inauguration along with Freeport’s Chairman of the Board Richard Adkerson and President and CEO Kathleen Quirk. The post received more than 64,000 impressions and 835 engagements across LinkedIn and Facebook.
No. 4 – Economic Impact
This post emphasized Freeport’s positive economic impacts stemming from our operations and business activities in the areas where we operate. The post received over 41,200 impressions and more than 560 engagements across LinkedIn and Facebook.
No. 5 – Intern Conference
Rounding out our top five was a post that celebrated the achievements of over 300 interns who successfully completed their summer internships. It highlighted a two-day conference where they presented their summer projects to supervisors, leadership and fellow interns. The post received more than 33,700 impressions and over 800 engagements across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
